Dagari figure

DESCRIPTION

A protecting 'Dagaaba'. Dagari people, Burkina Faso.

The Dagari are related to the Lobi and have these phallic anthropomorphic initiation figures in their shrines.

Mostly with a thick encrusted sacrificial material. This figure has unusual facial features. (95cm)
