Hand molded clay, slip painting. An impressive, large, rimmed platter, painted in rich earth tones with dramatic geometric designs related to the talismanic and protective motifs seen in Kabylie textile art and body painting. The pottery has roots in the classic forms and decoration of an ancient, pan-Mediterranean tradition.
