DESCRIPTION

·     Eleven beadworks: a bracelet, a necklace, a belt, three tobacco bags, two ankle jewelry and two ‘cache de sexe’,  pubic aprons

·     Glass beads, leather, cotton, metal 

Bags like this were used by both men and women to carry pipes and tobacco.

Beadwork was made by women. Married women produced beadwork for their husbands and younger children. Post-pubescent girls made their own beadwork as wel as for the young men who courted them.
